Recently Filled Needs

HS Bridges Backroom Summer Stock

Sycamore Bridges is fully stocking the Sycamore High School Bridges Backroom with hygiene supplies as we head into summer. Did you know students can access the closet all year long, especially those participating in summer school? We are excited to continue serving the student community for all of their hygiene needs. Thanks to a community grant, this request has been fully funded. No additional donations are needed at this time.

Dinner for Foster Mom and Family

Sycamore Bridges is working with a school nurse to arrange dinner for a foster mom of 3 young Sycamore students. Mom is having minor surgery that will keep her off her feet for a few days. The nurse would like to send 2 meals (with anticipated leftovers) that will offer mom some flexibility and grace while she recovers. The total requested is $120. If you would like to offer assistance, CLICK HERE and designate your donation to "Meals".

Play Kitchen Donation

Sycamore Bridges received a donation of a gently used play kitchen ready for its next home. Thanks to our advocates, we were able to find the perfect placement where the kitchen will be well-loved for years to come. No additional donations are needed at this time.

June Rent for Widowed Mother

Sycamore Bridges is working with the Sycamore Schools social worker to assist a young, widowed mom of 3 Sycamore students. Mom was recently downsized at work causing an unplanned loss of income. As a result, she is short on funds for her upcoming rental payment. Thanks to a community grant, we are only in need of $800 to fully cover a month's rent, which also incudes her water and trash expenses. If you would like to offer assistance, CLICK HERE and designate your gift to "June Rent".

Grocery Gift Card Request

Sycamore Bridges is working with an elementary school counselor to assist a family who is struggling to make ends meet. The family has been connected to additional resources to help with their longterm needs, but those benefits will not kick in immediately. As a result, we have been asked to provide two gift cards to Kroger and Meijer for $150 each. If you would like to offer assistance, CLICK HERE and designate your donation to "Food Insecurity".

Overdue Technology Fee

Sycamore Bridges is working with a school counselor to assist a custodial grandparent with a technology fee for their grandchild. The fee was added to the student's account in 2021. No other fees have accrued since that time. The grandparent is unable to afford the outstanding $100 balance. If you would like to help wipe out this fee, CLICK HERE and designate your gift to "Technology Fee".
