Sycamore High School Student Needs Transportation Assistance


Sycamore HS student who lives with his grandparents is in need of transportation help for food delivery and getting grandparents to medical appointments. Both grandparents recently had surgeries and are unable to drive. The student does not yet drive himself. If you are able to assist with delivering groceries (ordered through Kroger's ClickList), and/or driving to and from medical appointments, please the "I Can Help" button below and indicate your availability. Sycamore Bridges will put you in contact with the family to make specific arrangements. *Please note, there is no financial commitment with this need. It is strictly a service-based opportunity.

Food Gift Cards Needed for a Family of 6


Gift cards needed to help a large family with food while a family member is in the hospital. Caregivers are assisting children with meals. 

Kroger, Uber Eats, or MasterCard/Visa are preferred, but any local food gift card is appreciated. Cash is also accepted and will be used to purchase gift cards.

SHS Student Cannot Afford Fee for AP Exam


SHS student with financial hardship cannot afford the $90 fee to place order for Advanced Placement Psychology Exam.  Registration deadline is Friday, Oct. 11th, 2019.

Window A/C Unit Needed ASAP

Sycamore High Student in Need of Eye Exam and New Glasses


16 year old Sycamore High Student in need of an eye exam as well as a new pair of glasses. She is struggling to see her school work... looking for someone who can either provide the exam or assist in paying for the exam as well as provide or assist with payment for a new pair of glasses and insurance for them (just in case).

Membership to Blue Ash Rec Center


A Sycamore family with two sons will benefit greatly from the regular use of the Blue Ash Rec Center by having a consistent and safe environment for the boys to "hang out". We are looking to cover the annual membership fee of $100.

Elementary Students in Need of Clothing Gift Cards


Sycamore family in great need of appropriately-sized clothing for students in grades 3 and 4. Gift cards to Target and/or Kohl’s are appreciated. Monetary donations to be used toward the purchase of gift cards are also accepted.

Bus Fee and Cinci Recreation Club Pass for Weekly Field Trips for Special Needs Student

New Eyeglasses Needed


2019 Sycamore graduate and current Sycamore resident in desperate need of new glasses. This individual is working in retail with a broken pair of glasses, looking very unprofessional. A new pair of glasses would make a huge impact. We are seeking $150 to purchase a new pair. Any amount is appreciated!

Assistance Needed Delivering and Assembling Bunk Beds ASAP


UPDATE: We have secured a vehicle. We just need two more helpers for Sunday afternoon! 


Sycamore Bridges is looking for volunteers to help deliver and assemble bunk beds for our most recently-filled need. Volunteers would ideally have a large SUV or pick-up truck that can transport a bed and two twin mattresses. We have one bunk bed that needs delivery and assembly. We have another bunk bed that needs disassembly, delivery, and reassembly. We are hoping to complete the delivery this weekend. Reliable high school students looking for volunteer hours are welcome!

Family in Need of Bunk Beds and a Pack 'N Play or Bassinet


  • UPDATE: We are now seeking $500 to complete the purchase of the remaining bunk bed and mattresses. Of course, a bunk bed donation is still much preferred! Sycamore Bridges can arrange for pick-up/delivery.

  • A Sycamore family has unexpectedly taken on the care of several children. They are in urgent need of places to sleep for these precious kids. Specifically, they could use:

About Sycamore

Lori Drasnin, Area Director


Lori Drasnin is an active Sycamore parent and volunteer. She previously served as PTO President for Montgomery Elementary, and currently serves as Treasurer for E.H. Greene Intermediate. Over the past eight years, Lori has chaired too many PTO events and fundraisers to count, and brought innovative and updated programs to the local schools. Lori also organized a Bedtime Bundle collection for the YWCA Battered Women’s Shelter from 2014-2017, and serves on the board of Ohio Cleats for Kids (C4K).

 

Lori holds undergraduate degrees from The University of Michigan, as well as a law degree from Emory University. She practiced product liability defense for six years at Dinsmore in Cincinnati, OH before “retiring” to stay home and raise her children. Lori is married to husband, Jeff, has two boys, Matthew and Ryan, and two puggles, Max & Erma. 

 

Lori looks forward to serving the greater Sycamore community and bridging kindness across the neighborhood.
