Family needs help with major car repairs

Young family - mom and dad both working full-time and surviving paycheck-to-paycheck. Have young daughter, almost 3. They share one car for transportation to both jobs and childcare - a 2014 Ford Escape 1.6L EcoBoost. Last month, car needed major transmission work and family had to take out $4k on credit card to pay for repairs. This month, car stopped running and now family is being told it's either cracked engine block or need new head gasket - repairs that again cost a few thousand dollars. Family has no savings and no more room on credit. Still owes on car and it is their lifeline to work. They need help.
