UPDATE: We’ve exceeded our goal. Construction has begun. Grandparents need a wheelchair ramp for their wheelchair bound grandchild they’re raising.

A degenerative, terminal condition has landed a young child in a wheelchair.  The child is being raised by the grandparents in a home they own so the construction will be permanent.  They need a ramp over the threshold of the front door.  They have an existing ramp up to the porch but we it will not withstand the weight of the motorized wheelchair for long.  The motorized wheelchair is being stored by a friend until a new ramp is built.

LABOR HAS BEEN DONATED.
A construction ministry experienced in building to code with locally purchased, under warranty weather treated materials.

The cost is estimated at $3,262.  The family no longer has to contribute their stimulus thanks to a portion of our Kindness Council’s sponsorship from Good Neighbors Pest Services, local donors, the efforts of Jimmy and Heather Argo, a very generous donor, the MCCarty Farrah Masonic Lodge #8 and  Libby’s Friends.

Financial donations towards the (rising) cost of lumber and supplies.https://secure.1stpaygateway.n... mail checks written to neighborhoodbridges to 6128 Lakeside Drive, Mt. Olive, AL 35117 or drop off at Roo’s garden center on Mt. Olive Road.

This family didn’t come to us for help.  We saw their post looking for a wheelchair ramp and offered to do what we can.  She has helped others donating hand made masks and blankets for the blind.  It’s time to show this family the love and support of our community.

Thanks for your support!
